Christmas at the King house was enjoyable. we didnt have money for gifts for us, but the children had a good time. would have posted pictures, but my digital camera gave up the ghost... the second one this year! thank you for the cards if you sent them. my birthday was kind of a flop, we didnt have any money to do anything, but thanks to aunt leslie, i received gift cards for christmas and my birthday, and i was able to go get things that we needed from walmart.
At the first of the year we decided to put our horses to work for their food, and opened a riding school. we have 5 students so far this week already, so im thinking it was a good idea. we are really having a good time teaching children to ride, as we both enjoy riding very much. if it keeps growing like it is, then we plan to invest in some new horses, and maybe a pony for smaller children, along with some new saddles and tack. Overall, i think so far it is a good investment.
This week also, i have been in a lot of pain, so i went and was seen, and turns out i have a kidney infection. while doing tests and scans, they tested my kidney function, and apparently i only have 40% functioning in one, and 30% in the other. they say it is caused by diabetes. so i am going to have to be really careful about what i eat and drink. im not allowed to drink sodas, or unnatural juices, anything with dyes. i have to drink natural cranberry juice and bottled water only. they said also one clear beer a day, but im really not thinking ill do that... also, no sodium and sugar, or anything that will affect my blood sugar. so im basically bound to a diet of veg and meat, juice and water. also, i have to have all medications approved by my doctor, even pain or cold meds, and i have to take a medication for my kidneys. all of this news is a little unnerving, but i guess its a part of life. They say it can be life threatening if it gets anyworse. so i am being very careful in what i do.
other than those few things, life is good, and there really isnt anything new going on. just taking life one day at a time, and missing my family.
