update

i havent been on here in a while, so i decided i better give an update...

we are still living in crowell, still loving it, and loving life together. rob and zadee are spending more time here now, and we enjoy having them.

it is strange for me to go from being single with no kids to having a family, and being a mom... but life is fantastic, and i wouldnt have it any other way. in fact, when the kids are spending time with their mother, something is definitely missing in our home.

i changed jobs and i am now working at the crowell cap factory, i make baseball caps, the hours are fantastic, i love my job, and the pay is ok too. and being that it is in town, i save so much on gas!

i have been looking for a sewing machine, because my boss told me i could have all the scraps from the hats for quilts or whatever i need. im so excited! he also told me that if i found one that needed a little work, that he would fix it for me! so, im trying to be a little more crafty lately...

robert is considering going on wheat harvest, which will put him away from the house for some months, but will bring in a good amount of money.. so it has to be considered.

since my last blog i also got a new car! a vw beetle, and i love it! its not just what i wanted, but it gets great gas mileage, so it got the vote...

i am trying to save enough money to go home for the hiatt family reunion in the end of june, but i cant say if i will be able to pull it off... its not looking too good... but such is life..

i miss my family back home, and i am really missing out on siblings and neices and nephews lives, but i love my family and my life here. i am really excited to see what life will bring me next!

crazy time at the king house

well this summer has been a great and hot one so far! we have roberts neices staying with us and it has been a blast having them here. robert has been working a ton lately because it is plowing time, and if the rain will stop for just a little longer he may be able to get it all done...

my little sister just had her baby about 3 weeks ago and she is the cutest little thing you ever saw! also roberts nephew's wife had a baby a few days before that and she is also cute.

my days lately are spent cleaning, cooking, and playing with the girls, and with our dog baby.

baby has had some issue with her eye lately... not sure what but her inner eyelid wont open all the way, its sad.

ive received some letters in the mail both from allison steele and from my grandma hatch in utah. it has been fun to read of their adventures in life.

Bryce went to state tennis this last week and did a great job, he is such a great athlete and i am sooo proud of him for following my footsteps where tennis is concerned.

i have felt an incredible need to sing again lately, so i have been looking for a worship service to lead or a womens choir to join, but none will be quite like those led by bruce and linda walker.. those two are the cream of the crop!

well, love and miss you all, just wanted to leave an update!

lonely weekend

well, i bought another car, an oldsmobile achieva. it is a good little car, and im hoping more reliable than the honda. we also brought in a new horse last night. her name is jetta. she was a barrel horse, so she is a little jumpy and a little high strung, but i think she will be a good horse with a little work. she is way chubby. you can tell she has been fed well, and not ridden. so that will have to change. im in love with her already. she and lady get along great! which is what i was hoping, because lady can make a best friend or an enemy when it comes to other horses. they even ate out of the same grain bucket. it was cute. so, im excited about that.
robert left with some friends last night to go to oklahoma to get some more horses and to work on someones plumbing. so i am here alone this weekend. not much to do, and its cold outside. it will give me some time to work with jetta and lady if it would just warm up a little. it is only 28 outside right now. the hour i spent outside this morning was a chilly one.
i have some shopping to do today, and im thinking about getting my nails done... we'll see what the day brings.
just wanted to leave an update for you who check this. love and miss you all.

update... and recent endeavors

Christmas at the King house was enjoyable. we didnt have money for gifts for us, but the children had a good time. would have posted pictures, but my digital camera gave up the ghost... the second one this year! thank you for the cards if you sent them. my birthday was kind of a flop, we didnt have any money to do anything, but thanks to aunt leslie, i received gift cards for christmas and my birthday, and i was able to go get things that we needed from walmart.

At the first of the year we decided to put our horses to work for their food, and opened a riding school. we have 5 students so far this week already, so im thinking it was a good idea. we are really having a good time teaching children to ride, as we both enjoy riding very much. if it keeps growing like it is, then we plan to invest in some new horses, and maybe a pony for smaller children, along with some new saddles and tack. Overall, i think so far it is a good investment.

This week also, i have been in a lot of pain, so i went and was seen, and turns out i have a kidney infection. while doing tests and scans, they tested my kidney function, and apparently i only have 40% functioning in one, and 30% in the other. they say it is caused by diabetes. so i am going to have to be really careful about what i eat and drink. im not allowed to drink sodas, or unnatural juices, anything with dyes. i have to drink natural cranberry juice and bottled water only. they said also one clear beer a day, but im really not thinking ill do that... also, no sodium and sugar, or anything that will affect my blood sugar. so im basically bound to a diet of veg and meat, juice and water. also, i have to have all medications approved by my doctor, even pain or cold meds, and i have to take a medication for my kidneys. all of this news is a little unnerving, but i guess its a part of life. They say it can be life threatening if it gets anyworse. so i am being very careful in what i do.

other than those few things, life is good, and there really isnt anything new going on. just taking life one day at a time, and missing my family.

christmas time

well, its getting to christmas time here in texas... no snow... not really cold... and not much christmas spirit. trying to come up with ideas to increase our families christmas spirit this year. it is robert and mine's first christmas together, and our first christmas as a family with his children as well.

we spend our days working hard, riding horses, and enjoying each other's company. we have really enjoyed this last almost two months that we have been here in texas. we have had our hard times like any other family, but we are closer than ever. just after we got here, i had an unfortunate miscarriage. i started some new medication, and didnt know that i was pregnant. those sort of things just seem to happen, but still disheartening.

i am trying to get healthier, so i have been riding my horse more often, as well as jogging in the mornings. i have been losing weight, so i think it is good. weight loss can only be healthy for someone of my stature. also, im hoping that all of the trips to the hospital and to doctors will at some time pay off, and we will resolve my health issues.

Our cars transmission went out for good recently, so we have had some financial struggles, but it seems that everyone has been having a lot of the same issue where their finances are concerned. im hoping that if we stay positive and trust in the lord that everything will be ok.

that is basically what is going on here in texas. Rob Jr. and Zadee are doing well in school, and are excited for christmas. Robert's health has been better lately also, so i think that we are rather blessed.
